Crash_US31-9A_1Southbound traffic on US 31 was stopped for approximately an hour while emergency crews responded to a two vehicle accident at 9A Road.

Crash_US31-9A_2Details haven’t been released but it was apparent that an eastbound gasoline tanker semi owned and operated by P.A.C. Trucking from Kankakee, IL  and delivering fuel for Family Express pulled across the southbound lanes of US 31 in front of a southbound pick-up truck pulling a trailer.  The pick-up was unable to avoid a collision and slammed into the driver’s side rear axle of the semi truck.

The two people in the pick-up truck received minor injuries and were transported to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth.  A dog in their vehicle was transported from the scene by Plymouth Fire Chief Rod Miller.

Crash_US31-9A_3Southbound traffic was re-routed west on Jefferson Street and back south on Michigan Street through downtown Plymouth.

Crash_US31-9A_4WTCA will release complete details as they become available.
