There are five Republicans running for three open seats on the County Council in the May 7th Republican Primary. 

Two of the candidates are incumbents, Jim Masterson and Tim Harman.  The other three candidates haven’t been on the County Council.

WTCA obtained a copy of each candidate’s Pre-Primary Financial Reports. 

The Masterson for County Council opened their report with a zero balance on January 1st of this year.  Jim Masterson showed itemized contributions of $4,700 and $4,000 were from Jim Masterson.  He also had a donation from a retired individual and a $500 donation from Rudy for Indiana. Expenditures for Masterson for County Council included $595 in the Pilot News and $772.50 for Bowen Printing.  Jim Masterson’s report ended on April 12th with $3,332.50 on hand.

Conservatives for Tim Harman opened this political finance report with a zero balance.  His report showed $17,174.43 of itemized contributions but the report does show $1,791 of unitemized donations all less than $100.  Tim Harman also had his own contributions of $11,538.29 and $1,741.69 from Harman Restaurants, Inc.   Harman also received a $500 contribution from the Rudy PAC and $481.16 from Faulstich for Marshall County and $521.75 from Brandon Schadek for County Council.

The expenditures showed $14,458.79 and included Vistaprint.com for $1,100.17, Amazon.com for $109.54, Staples.com 191.96, Just Mailings at $6,530.53.  Other expenditures for Tim Harman were $3,000 to the Jesse for Marshall County campaign, Duley Press, Banners on the Cheap.com, Signs on the Cheap.com Meta Platforms, the Pilot News and Seasoned Banquet Center.  Conservatives for Tim Harman ended the Pre-Primary campaign finance report with $2,715.64.      

The Debbie VanDeMark for County Council at Large committee also opened the Pre-Primary campaign finance report with zero funds on hand.  She had itemized contributions of $2,150 including from herself and three individuals along with $900 from Plymouth Foundry and $500 from the Rudy PAC.

Expenditures for VanDeMark totaled $1,226.59 for banking, photography, embroidery, Bowen Printing, Town & Country Press and Harcourt Outlines.  On April 12th the account had a balance of $923.41

Brandon Schadek for County Council opened the campaign finance reporting period with a zero balance.  He listed $9,393.30 in itemized contributions including $5,359.77 of his own money.  His contributions came from individuals, businesses, Tim Harman for $927.40, Adam Faulstich for $481.16, Conservatives for Tim Harman at $568.76 and $6.51 from Jesse for Marshall County. 

Expenditures for Brandon Schadek totaled $9,058.81 for Just Mailings at $3,207.44, Banners on the Cheap for $472.83, Signs on the Cheap for $1,319.14, newspaper advertising, radio advertising, Magnets on the Cheap, Bowen Printing for $423.18, Simon Speedshop, the Marshall County Clerk and Vista Print for $532.96.  Brandon Schadek ended the reporting period with $334.49 on hand. 

The final candidate, Jeff Wojcik for County Council at Large, opened his report with zero dollars on hand.  He listed unitemized contributions of $34 and unitemized expenses of $34.  On the April 12 reporting date, the Wojcik report had a zero balance.
