Fire_920 West Harrison StThe Plymouth Fire Department responded to a residential house fire Monday morning at 3:19. The home at 920 West Harrison Street had flames shooting through the roof as Plymouth Fire Chief Rod Miller arrived on scene.

Firefighters were hindered on their attack of the fire in the garage due to a live electrical wire that was down at the front of the garage. The origin of the fire was determined to be in the garage and the fire spread easily to the home from the attached garage and into the upstairs bedrooms. Fortunately no one was at home at the time of the blaze.

Argos Fire was called in to assist with manpower as crews battled the blaze for some time before getting it under control.

The home and garage at 920 is owned by Benjamine Figueroa was a total loss with an estimated value of $85,000.

The cause of the fire has been listed as undetermined. Fire Chief Rod Miller said, “we don’t know how or why the fire started only that it started in the garage.” With no insurance on either the building or contents the case has been closed.

A neighboring home immediately to the west of the garage sustained substantial exposure damage.

No injuries were reported to firefighters or civilians although a family dog in a kennel didn’t make it through the fire.
