11/27/13 With the holiday shopping season set to officially begin sometime between now and the time you mop-up the last of your turkey gravy on Thursday night, the focus of media attention world-wide will be on the throngs of half-frozen bargain hunters camped out all night at the big box stores, and the frenzied free-for-all that follows when the doors to the retail behemoths are opened.

Local businesses will celebrate “Small Business Saturday” this week – another of those so-called “Hallmark Holidays,” this one designed with commerce in mind. On this one day each year, local businesses encourage folks to get out and support the small businessmen and women of our community.

But when you really stop to think of it, every day is Small Business Saturday here in Plymouth, and, for that matter, in most of Marshall County.
