01/25/13  On Tuesday, January 15th an investigation into the manufacturing and dealing of methamphetamine was conducted by the UNIT (Undercover Narcotics Investigation Team) led to a traffic stop I the Burro Oak area.

Patrolman Jonathon Bryant with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received a tip from the Drug Task Force that led to a traffic stop and arrest of  53 year old, Otis Young of Plymouth.

Further investigation on the traffic stop led to a search warrant for a residence located at 15231 State Road 17 in Bur Oak.  The search warrant was served that night at approximately 10 PM.  A search of the residence, buildings and vehicles on the property revealed evidence of the manufacturing and dealing of methamphetamine.

During the search, officer’s located 32 year old David Weirick who was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine.  Mr. Weirick was arrested at 10:50 p.m. and transported to the Marshall County Jail on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine a class D felony, and manufacturing a Class B felony.  Weirick was held without bond.
