01/16/13 Plymouth Police Chief Jim Cox presented the 2012 Annual Activity Report to members of the Board of Public Works and Safety Monday evening. The report begins with 9,222 calls for information. Officers handled 3,383 complaints last year and conducted 2,911 traffic stops. City Police officers initiated 2,911 traffic stops, conducted 2,534 security checks and responded to 2,128 9-1-1 call.
In 2012 Plymouth Police conducted 1,620 investigations, signed 1,066 charges, attended to 529 civil matters, made 465 traffic arrests and responded to 465 alarms. Officers made 462 criminal arrests last year, conducted 406 vehicle checks, issued 343 $2 parking tickets and investigated 342 property damage accidents.
Officers from the Plymouth Police Department checked on 306 suspicious vehicles, investigated 274 theft complaints and responded to 270 suspicious person complaints. Last year officers were dispatched to 236 juvenile complaints, used the City’s K9 198 times, wrote 184 traffic warnings and served 169 restraining orders.
During 2012 city police officers conducted 152 welfare checks, served 114 warrants, located 79 open door or windows, enacted the Merchant Protection Plan 38 times and assisted with 36 lockouts. Officers investigated 36 battery complaints, responded to 30 unwanted guests, handled 26 domestic fights, investigated 11 personal injury accidents, issued 5 $10 parking ticket, investigated 3 suicide attempts, 2 animal bites and issued 1 $50 handicap parking ticket.
