Covid 19 update_1The Indiana Department of Health today announced that 2,765 additional Hoosiers have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at the state laboratory, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and private laboratories. That brings to 160,454 the total number of Indiana residents known to have the novel coronavirus following corrections to the previous day’s dashboard.

A total of 3,882 Hoosiers are confirmed to have died from COVID-19, an increase of 24 from the previous day. Another 236 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record. Deaths are reported based on when data are received by the state and occurred over multiple days.

Saturday’s county update shows 27 new positive cases bringing the total since March to 1,427.  There were no new deaths reported.  80 new tests was administered and the 7-day positivity rate of all tests (13,516) was 3.2% and the unique individuals 7-day positivity rate is 15.2%.

To date, 1,618,331 unique individuals have been tested in Indiana, up from 1,605,596 on Sunday. A total of 2,681,197 tests, including repeat tests for unique individuals, have been reported to the state Department of Health since Feb. 26.
