severe-weather-threatThe National Weather Service has upgraded everything basically south of U.S. 30 into the “Slight” risk category for severe weather tonight and into tomorrow morning.  The greatest threat now looks to be between 11pm and 1am.

The threats include damaging winds (60 mph), heavy rainfall (up to 1. 5 in. or more) and the chance of an isolated tornado.

Impacts from the potential storm include damage to trees and power-lines that could lead to trees across roads and power outages.  Flash flooding potential, localized flooding issues including ponding on road surfaces.

The preparedness action by citizens is to secure loose objects outdoors that could be blown around and cause damage.  Be cautious when driving at night as water across roads is harder to see.  Monitor local news for weather updates and be prepared to implement personal emergency plans should severe weather develop.
