WABASH — LeAnn Rimes, internationally multiplatinum- selling acclaimed singer and ASCAP award-winning songwriter, will be coming to the Honeywell Center on Friday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35, $45 and $75.Opening for Rimes is Plymouth native, Brett Wiscons.“This is a huge show for me in support of LeAnn Rimes,” Wiscons said. “I’ve put in a lot of hard work to get to this point, so I want to enjoy the moment as much as possible.”Wiscons, who now makes his home in Zionsville, has been pursuing music for years, but solo for the last few.“When I think about it, I’ve only truly been a solo artist for five years,” he said, “so I’ve made some decent strides in that time period. I have to remind myself that there are so many levels of success in the music industry, so just to have been able to make it this long, I’ve done fairly well.”The October show with Rimes isn’t the only big news in his life recently. Wiscons, who is described as having a unique mixture of music ranging from vocal powerhouses Sade and Edwin McCain to rock bands Pearl Jam, the Eagles and Hootie & the Blowfish, has shared a bill with Darius Rucker, Zac Brown Band and Katy Perry among others.He averages nearly 220 performances each year.“I’m also waiting to hear if my song ‘Until I Think About You’ gets any placements on TV or film this fall,” Wisons said. “I signed a licensing deal with an LA-based company this summer in hopes of them securing me some placements.
