Regional Trail Branding_optionsAn open house took place on March 26 for the public to have an opportunity to provide feedback on three Regional Trail Brand options that will help give our regions trail system an overall identity. For those who were not able to attend this event, there are still opportunities to share your input. An online survey and several pop-up events will be taking place during the next couple of weeks to ensure as many people as possible have the opportunity to provide feedback on the branding and wayfinding of our regional trails.

Our region boosts over 900 miles of bicycle and pedestrian facilities. The trail network is a huge asset to our region and our communities and with so many unique pathways, it becomes important to connect the individual trail to the overall network. In order to recognize our trail network as a whole system and to promote what our region has to offer, the Michiana Area Council of Governments (MACOG) is partnering with organizations and local governments in Elkhart, Kosciusko, Marshall, and St. Joseph Counties, Indiana and in Niles, Michigan to develop a Regional Trail Branding and Wayfinding system.

With the public’s input, a logo and brand that visually captures the message of our trails and a name that speaks to both residents and visitors will be developed and implemented to better promote what our region has to offer.

Visit www.surveymonkey.com/r/TJ8T69F to take the online survey. The public input and opinions of the region that are gathered from these opportunities are what will lead the way in the development of this new and exciting brand of our regional trails.
