LJH_DanceMarathon2019_1For the first time in its four-year history of fundraising, the Lincoln Jr. High Mini Dance Marathon has broken the $6,500 mark. On Friday, hundreds of Lincoln Junior High School students danced the day away all in support for kids at Riley Hospital for Children.

LJH_DanceMarathon2019_2More than 320 Red Storm students donated money and participated in the fourth annual Lincoln “Mini” Dance Marathon. Former Lincoln students organized and ran the marathon in the LJHS gymnasium that took place throughout the entire school day. Students literally danced for hours to support children who cannot, and because of their efforts, Lincoln raised more money than ever before for children who receive pediatric care at Riley.

LJH_DanceMarathon2019_3Principal Reid Gault said, “It was great to see our students working together for a great cause.” The LJHS administration thanks Plymouth High School senior Kelsey Owen, and Lincoln teachers Betsy Barron and Kelsie Hollabaugh for their continuous efforts in organizing this year’s event. For the second year in a row, Beacon Credit Union sponsored the event. Melissa Owen, a representative with the bank said they were honored to purchase, cook and serve 400 hotdogs to the hungry Lincoln student dancers. She said they also brought 400 bottles of cold water to keep the dancers hydrated.
