Two west bound semis collided Friday evening just after 6 on US 30 just east of the intersection with Queen Road. The crash closed the west bound lanes of US 30 for nearly two hours and traffic was diverted on to Lincoln Highway.
County police are not releasing details. But WTCA was on the scene when the crash happened.
The driver of the second semi was seriously injured in the crash and it took emergency responders approximately 45 minutes to extricate him from convention cab.
The initial impact was so strong it ripped the cab off the chassis.
The Pennsylvania driver was airlifted from the scene.
Both lanes of US 30 were closed as the helicopter landed on the west bound lane of US 30 immediately west of Queen Road and took off.
WTCA expects the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department to release complete details on Monday.
