02/18/14    On Friday, February 14th at approximately 12:00 P.M. the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received information of a house that had allegedly been broken into with items removed.

Deputy Les McFarland responded to the residence located in the 3,000 block of West Shore Drive at Lake of the Woods in Bremen.   The officer discovered that subjects had broken into the residence and removed electronics.

During the investigation it was also discovered that another residence had been broken into and had electronics removed.  The Indiana State Police assisted at the scene in collecting evidence.   This incident is still under investigation along with the other break-ins that were discovered last week at the lake.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is encouraging citizens to report any suspicious activity and to take precaution when being away from home.  They suggest shoveling your sidewalk and driveway to make it appear as though someone is at the residence. The use of night lights, motion sensors and or installing alarms are good ideas to use while being away as well as notifying your family and neighbors to check on your home and gather your mail.
