07/11/13 City department heads presented their monthly reports during Monday night’s Board of Public Works and Safety meeting. 

Plymouth Police Chief Dave Bacon’s staff answered 747 calls for information, conducted 316 traffic stops, investigated to 278 complaints and responded to 189 9-1-1 calls.  City Officers conducted 184 investigations in June, attended to 64 civil matters, conducted 63 security checks, issued 62 $2 parking tickets and did 47 vehicle checks.  Plymouth police officers made 47 traffic arrests, responded to 39 alarms, checked 30 suspicious vehicles, investigated 30 theft reports and made 29 criminal arrests. 

Plymouth officers were dispatched to 23 property damage accidents, checked on 19 suspicious persons, responded to 16 juvenile complaints, served 12 warrants.  K9 Jax was used 11 times, officers conducted 6 welfare checks, responded to 6 battery complaints, enacted the Merchant Protection Plan 4 times and were dispatched to 3 domestic fights.  Officers located 2 open doors or windows, investigated 1 personal injury accident, assisted with 1 lockout and issued 1 $50 handicap parking ticket. 

  Fire Chief Rod Miller’s staff responded to 190 alarm situations in June.  145 of those calls were EMS incidents and 14 were medical assists. Ten times last month emergency responders were cancelled en route and were dispatched to 4 false alarms.

Fire situations in June included 2 chemical releases, 2 combustible spills or leaks, 2 electrical wiring problems, 2 structure fires, and 2 unintentional system operations. Last month the fire department did 1 standby at another fire station, responded to 1 good intend call, and were dispatched to 1 person in distress and 1 severe weather situation.  Firefighters also responded to 1 special outside fire, 1 system malfunction and 1 wrong location.
