02/21/13 Members of the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission met Tuesday night for their regular monthly meeting.
City Engineer Rick Gaul asked and received permission to re-locate a fire hydrant at the intersection of Oak Drive and Pilgrim Lane. Recently, a semi-truck jumped the 16 inch barrier curb, damaged the curb stop and nearly hit the hydrant.
Commonwealth Engineers presented the findings regarding the new well flows with the new wells at the Pine Road Plant. They also gave an update on progress of the project. Redevelopment Commission member approved several change orders including one for additional work on well number two, a change in the type of outdoor security lighting, and a change in the length of piping at the meter.
In TIF # 3 bids were open for the demolition of the three buildings for River Park Square. Only two bids were received. Jackson Demolition Services was the low bidder at $42,000 and Geyer Excavating bid $71,000. The board authorized going forward with the work subject to review by the City Attorney and City Engineer.
In the same area, the City Attorney Sean Surrisi received approval to spend just over $4,000 for the environmental testing and documentation required when the fuel tank is removed behind the LaPorte Street building.
Mike Reese from The Troyer Group updated the Redevelopment Commission on the River Park Square plans and was given approval to send the project out to bid. Commission president, Don Wendel asked if the power pole at the southwest corner of Garro/Water Street intersection could be relocated. Currently, it is scheduled to remain.
Brent Martin updated the board on the status of the flood plain study in TIF 3. The study is complete and has been submitted to DNR for review.
