Plymouth_Logo_2014Monday evening during the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety meeting Fire Chief Rod Miller presented the April Activity Report.  Emergency responders had 175 alarm situations.

EMS had 135 medical incidents, 8 medical assists and 2 good intent calls.  Fire calls included 6 vegetation fires, 4 structure fires, 2 vehicle fires, 1 hazardous condition, a Hazmat investigation with no Hazmat found, a special outside fire, 1 steam mistaken for smoke, an outside rubbish fire and a single unauthorized burning.

7 times in April emergency crews were cancelled en route, there were 3 false alarms, and one unintentional system operation.

Looking at incidents by district show 90 calls were for Plymouth, 35 in West Township, 28 in Center Township and 1 in LaPaz.  Paramedic assists include 5 for Walkerton, 3 for LaPaz and 1 in Culver.

In April the Plymouth Fire Department had 233 plus hours of training for CPR, Disaster Management, General Fire Control, Foam Applications, Hazmat Awareness, Hose Test, Paramedic School, Public Education and the Respiratory System.

 

Plymouth Police Chief Dave Bacon also presented his April Activity Report to Board of Works members.  There were 710 calls for information to the police department.  Officers handled 395 complaints, conducted 353 traffic stops, did 225 residential security checks, issued 186 citations, and took 131 case reports. Plymouth Police officers responded to 128 9-1-1 calls, wrote 37 accident reports, responded to 32 alarms, investigated 26 animal complaints, used K9 Jax 19 times, and handled 7 code enforcement issues.

Officers with the Plymouth Police Department assisted other agencies 16 times last month and arrested 39 adults and 12 juveniles.
