The weather at McCormick Creek was by far the hottest of the spring season.  Equally hot was the scoring!  Northwood on their home course fired a 146, 3 shots off their school record to beat the Pilgrim Varsity (153) their best 9 hole round of the season.  153 is also the best 9 hole score I’ve had in my 8 year tenure.  Plymouth defeated Wawasee (157) who also had one of their best rounds.

Junior Reis Yoder had the hot round early.  Reis picked up back to back birdies on 14 & 15 which got him to -1.  Reis carried his -1 round to his final hole where a bit of bad luck got him into a hazard and he suffered a double bogey to finish +1 (37).
Senior Nate Kolter caught fire late finishing with back to back birdies on 17 & 18 to match Yoder with 37.
Junior Ben Schenk hit a BIG putt on his final hole to make birdie and secure a 38.  At that point it seemed the momentum was going in the Pilgrims favor.
Senior Zach Craft suffered water issues at various points in the round.  He encountered a unique situation on 16 http://youtu.be/57iG6u_lPM8.  After enduring another water ball on 18 Zach managed to card a respectable 41.
The Varsity concludes NLC round robin play Thursday at Maplecrest vs Goshen in a dual.  On the season the Varsity is 13-3 and 3-3 in NLC play.
The Plymouth JV continued their dominance picking up two victories tonight to improve their record to 12-1 overall and 5-1 in the NLC.   Sophomore Curtis Smith continued his hot play from the weekend firing a team low 43.
