South Central used a five-run second inning to jump in front and never trailed in a win over Plymouth, 8-1.

Gracie Patrick drove in Plymouth’s lone run in the bottom of the second. Patrick was 2-for-3 while teammates Emma Krupp and Rylee Mann accounted for the rest of the team’s four hits.

Senior Kaylee Johnson started and took the loss. Johnson was touched for six earned runs. She walked four and struck out one. Aubrey Ferguson worked the final two innings and gave up two runs, one of them earned.

“We are making the small strides to get better. We were almost clean defensively but now we need to get more baserunners and score some runs. Our goal is to be ready for NLC play,” head coach John Johnson.
