05/01/13 Members of the Plymouth Chamber of Commerce recently received this year’s ballot for the 2013 Community Awards.  Chamber President, Ryan Jessen would like to encourage all members to vote for the various awards and return their ballots as early as possible.

Each year the Chamber of Commerce presents three annual awards, the Walter A. Glaub Business of the Year Award – presented to a business that has shown community support and invokes a standard of excellence in the community, such as exemplary customer service and or community involvement.  The companies up for the award are Hoosier Tire, Johnson Danielson Funeral Home, Morrow Insurance, Plymouth Ponderosa, and Treat’s Squire Shop.

The second annual award is the Chamber Individual of the Year.  This is awarded to an individual who had made positive contributions to the quality of life in the Plymouth Area, who may volunteer talents to worthwhile organizations and or demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities in business and the community.  Individuals up for the award include Randy Danielson from Johnson Danielson Funeral Home, Ryan Jessen from 1st Source Bank, Susie Reinhold from the Plymouth Public Library, Linda Rippy from the Marshall County Historical Society and Museum and Sam Schlosser from Plymouth Foundry. 

The final award is the Chamber Non-Profit of the Year Award.  This is viable for any 501 (c) 3, serving the community with distinction and excellence while enhancing the Plymouth area.  Agencies up for the award incude: the 5-Star Program at Lincoln Junior High, the Boys and Girls Club, Center for Hospice Care, Earthworks, and the Neighborhood Center. 

Deadline for Chamber members to cast their votes is May 10th.  The winners will be announced at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner in June at Christo’s Banquet Center.
