01/23/2012  On Wednesday, January 11th around 12:30am, Patrolman Brandon Cooper of the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation a vehicle on US 30 at the US 31 exit.  Through the investigation it was determined that the driver, Rosalina Solis 20, of Fort Wayne was operating the vehicle without a license.  She was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail where she was booked in with a $250.00 cash bond.  Solis is scheduled to appear in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on February 7th at 8:30am.

On Wednesday, January 11th at approximately 11:18pm, Deputt Travis O’Neal conducted a traffic stop on US 31 at 9A Road on a vehicle that was driving on expired plates.  Officer O’Neal then discovered that the driver, later identified at as Leesonn L. Smith 38, of South Bend was driving on a suspended license.  Smith was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked in with a $750.00 cash bond, and is scheduled to appear in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on February 21st at 8:30am.

On Thursday January 12th at 4:25am, Officer Cooper was on routine patrol on US 30 near Hawthorn Road when he witnessed a vehicle exceeding the posted speed limit.  A traffic stop was conducted and through the investigation it was determined that the driver, Bobby J. Humes 32, of Culver was driving while suspended with a prior charge.  Humes was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked in with a $750.00 cash bond, and is scheduled to appear in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on February 7th at 8:30am.

On Saturday January 14th around 9:50pm, the Marshall County Police Department received a call from a resident in the in the 5,000 block of 6th Road.  The complainant advised he had just been battered by his ex-girlfriend.  Patrolman Jonathan Bryant investigated the complaint and subsequently arrested Alexandra Gordy 21, of Bremen for domestic battery.  Gordy was lodged at the Marshall County Jail where she was given a scheduled court appearance in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on January 24th at 8:30am.

On Thursday January 18th at approximately 4:30am, Patrolman Cooper was on routine patrol in LaPaz when he witnessed a vehicle speeding southbound on Michigan Street.  A traffic stop was conducted and it was determined that the driver, Victor Ariza-Castillo was operating without ever receiving a license.  Castillo was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked in and given a $250.00 cash bond, and is scheduled to appear in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on February 21st at 8:30am.
