Plymouth Clerk Treasurer Lynn Gorski presented an application of exception of city ordinance 1309 for the local Kiwanis Club.

The Plymouth Kiwanis Club annually conducts a fundraiser for Riley’s children’s Hospital by handing out peanuts for a financial donation at the corner of Michigan and Jefferson Streets.   They have expanded to also have gummy bears. 

The Kiwanis Club will be doing their annual peanut fundraiser on Friday, May 20 from noon till 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 21st from 8 a.m. until noon.

All proceeds from the evening go the Riley’s children’s Hospital. 

The second request came from the REES Theatre who wants to block off Michigan Street/State Road 17 from LaPorte to Garro Street on October 1st from noon until 10 p.m. for a community event.  The REES will be hosting a fundraising street dinner with some entertainment on the street for up to 250 people and they will attend the first performance in the theatre that evening.    

The Rees has already secured an INDOT permit to close the street. 

The Board of Public Works and Safety unanimously approved the Rees Theatre to close Michigan Street for a fundraising event on October 1st.
