Despite the attention October brings to breast cancer awareness every fall, only 69.1% of women over the age of 40 have had a mammogram in the past two years. May is Women’s Health Month, a time to recognize the unique care needs of all women, including mammograms.

The Saint Joseph Health System (SJHS) Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) will offer 3-D mammograms every weekday in May at locations in Marshall, St. Joseph, and Elkhart Counties. The MMU will be at locations like Notre Dame and the County/City Building in St. Joseph County, making it convenient and easy for women to receive a mammogram near work or home. In addition to the 3-D technology, the MMU features a medical exam room and intake area for gathering patient information and education.

Marshall County locations are:

  • May 15, 9 am – 3 pm – Marshall County Council on Aging, 1305 W. Harrison St., Plymouth, IN
  • *** May 16, 10 am – 3 pm – SJMG Walkerton, 506 Michigan St., Walkerton, IN ***
  • May 21, 10 am – 3 pm – SJMG Bourbon, 114 N. Washington St., Bourbon, IN
  • May 29, 9 am – 1 pm – Saint Joseph Health Center, 510 W. Adams St., Plymouth, IN
