Members of the Plymouth Common Council heard the first reading of an ordinance to amend the 2024 Salary Ordinance at their meeting last week.

The purpose and intent of this ordinance is to effectuate the proposed amendments for this year’s salary ordinance.

In the Park and Recreation Department the pay for lifeguards at the public pool will increase.   Head lifeguards who are Water Safety Instructors will be paid $17 an hour while lifeguards that are Water Safety Instructors will be paid $15.50 and lifeguards without the WSI will be paid $14 an hour.

The ordinance was heard on first reading last week and will be considered for second and third reading at the next city meeting on Monday, May 13th.  The new pay will take effect for this summer season if approved by the city council.
