Last week, Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel presented members of the County Council with the July 2020 Jail report.
The population on August 4th was 162 inmates. There were 13 inmates held for misdemeanor charges and 149 with felony charges. Forty-five inmates have been sentenced and were in the facility serving time. In July they housed 116 inmates for pre-trial.
The average population in July was 151 while the average population in January of this year was 249. One year ago the average population in the Marshall County Jail was 260.
The Sheriff’s July Jail Report did note that there are 1,202 active warrants outstanding.
