Argos_Logo_2018Sequel Wire and Cable, start-up manufacturer, announced plans to make a $53 million combined investment in a new manufacturing facility and production equipment that is expected to create up to 120 new jobs.

Sequel will expand the existing 50,000 square foot spec building built in 2017 by Marshall County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) to 162,500 square feet during phase I of the planned investment. This facility will house manufacturing equipment capable of producing high quality wire and cable products to meet customer specifications and demands. It is anticipated that this facility will be operational in early 2020.

Sequel co-founder, James Merritt of Minneapolis, MN, said “We appreciate the support shown by Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC), the Town of Argos, MCEDC, and the Argos Economic Development Commission as we have put together our plans to make this investment. Sequel looks forward to becoming part of the Argos community and being able to give back to the community that has helped to make this business a reality.”

“These newly created jobs mean a lot and we value the expression of confidence in the way that we’re now attracting and supporting such advanced manufacturing operations,” said George Null, Argos Town Council President.

“When sophisticated operations like Sequel Wire and Cable make major investments—in this case in Argos and Marshall County—it makes a big difference to everyone who lives and wants to work here,” added Jerry Chavez, President and CEO of the Marshall County Economic Development Corporation. “We’re grateful to Sequel Wire and Cable. And when I say that, I speak for leaders who are intent on growth by creating the business-friendly environment that attracted Sequel to choose Marshall County to live, work and play.”
