Senator Todd Young 1-5-18U.S. Senator Todd Young (R-Ind.) this week outlined his support for the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the annual military funding bill the Senate is debating this week. The NDAA is critical to national security and provides service members the funding they need to defend our country.

“We must guarantee our warfighters have unparalleled and overwhelming capabilities to deter or respond to global threats. That’s why it is vital that we continue to modernize our military with advanced capabilities such as hypersonic systems, invest in the latest generation fighter jets, and increase the Navy’s fleet strength. I agree with President Trump: Our brave service members should have all the resources necessary to ensure they never have to enter a fair fight. At the same time, Congress must also address the true driver of our national debt – runaway, automatic entitlement spending – which is crowding Congress’ ability to perform its most important responsibility – provide for our national defense,” said Senator Young.

Senator Young highlighted key components of the NDAA in a press conference with Senate leadership today, including the largest pay raise for troops in a decade, reassurance to our allies of America’s strength and power abroad, and job creation and stability in Indiana’s defense workforce.
