U.S. Senators Todd Young (R-Ind.) and Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) Thursday praised the nomination of Todd L. Nukes to serve as United States Marshal for the Northern District of Indiana. President Donald Trump announced his nomination this morning.
Todd Nukes is currently the Acting United States Marshal for the Northern District of Indiana, a position he has held since 2015. He joined the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) in 1990 and has spent his entire USMS career in the Northern District of Indiana, holding the positions of Deputy U.S. Marshal, Judicial Security Inspector, Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal, and now the Attorney General-appointed Acting United States Marshal.
“Todd Nukes is a lifelong Hoosier and a true leader in law enforcement,” Senator Young said. “He will be a great partner in our efforts to fight the opioid crisis and keep Hoosiers safe and secure.”
“Hoosier Todd Nukes has spent his career in a variety of law enforcement positions – including as Acting-US Marshal in Northern Indiana for the last three years – working to keep families and communities safe and addressing the opioid epidemic,” Senator Donnelly said. “Todd has extensive experience that would serve him well in this position.”
Mr. Nukes has served on numerous USMS Headquarters committees and boards throughout his career. He is a current Executive Board Member on the Indiana High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area program, and he has instructed at the National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada, on matters of Judicial Security. Prior to joining the USMS, Mr. Nukes served with the Grant County Sheriff’s Department from 1986 to 1990. He holds a B.S. in Criminology from Ball State University.
