Randy Head-2012Recently, State Senator Randy Head updated his constituents on several education bills he supported.  Head said, “Ensuring Hoosier students have the opportunity to receive a quality education is always a top priority for me.”

The senator went on to say, “During the 2018 legislative session, I supported several bills aimed at improving Indiana’s education system.”

House Enrolled Act 1001 provides the additional funding needed due to higher-than-expected enrollment in public schools for the 2017-18 and 2018-19 school year, which will give schools the per-student funding allowed by the 2017 budget. With this bill, all Indiana schools will see a per-student increase, even if their enrollment declined.

House Enrolled Act 1426 adjusts Indiana’s diploma system to make sure all high-school graduates are provided with a better, more effective pathway into college or the workforce. To do this, HEA 1426 paves the way to create more ways for students to graduate, ensuring they are on an education path that benefits their future.
