The 8th grade girls basketball “A” team played against non-conference opponent Culver at home.  The Red Storm came out on fire with good ball movement and a strong defensive effort that led to a 32-17 victory.  Lindsay Janus led the way with 9 points, Olivia Horvath added 8 points while Makenzie Dejarnatt chipped in 5 and Mia Wojcik scored 4 points.  Tallulah Gault, Miranda German and Madison Stiles rounded out the scoring with 2 points each.   Janus dished out 4 assists and Emma Cook added 2.  German created 5 steals on the defensive end, Janus added 4 steals, Cook notched 3 steals and the duo of Dejarnatt and Horvath had 2 steals each.   The win improves their record to 10-0.  The girls return to action Thursday (2/16) against Laporte Kesling on the road.  First game starts at 5:30.

The Lady Red Storm took on Culver last night, and the 7th grade improved their record to 10-4. What started as a high scoring, out of control first half turned into a fundamentally better second half; the passes were better, dribbles more controlled and the offense was patient and unrushed. All combined, this meant a 38-7 victory. Clare Sheedy was high scorer for the night with 8 points, followed closely by Hannah Friberg with 6, Sydney Rice with 5, and Keiara Himes, Sara Hunter, and Lexi Rose all with 4 a piece. The girls are back on the court Thursday hosting the Lady Komets from LaPorte Kesling.
