Escape Room entertainment is coming to the Michiana area. In this mentally challenging adventure game, a team of players is locked in a room where they must solve a series of riddles and puzzles in an attempt to escape within a one hour time limit.
A new local company, Michiana Escapes, will be offering an escape room adventure at the Tippecanoe Place Restaurant in South Bend. The theme of the room and puzzles are inspired by events that took place in the mansion in 1930s.
The game will take participants back to 1933, when even the iconic George and Ada Studebaker were not immune from the effects of the Great Depression. It looks inevitable that they will be forced to surrender their beloved Tippecanoe Place mansion to foreclosure.
The story goes on to say that George Studebaker has threatened to sell the blueprints of a new, economical automobile series to their leading competitor. Albert Erskine, president of the Studebaker Corporation, has hired your elite team of criminals to retrieve the automobile blueprints which he believes George has hidden in his estate. Those blueprints in the wrong hands could mean the end for the Studebaker Corporation and it’s up to you to save them!
Manager Matt Herm said that partnering with Tippecanoe Place Restaurant was a natural fit since people will be able to combine an evening of entertainment with a meal before or after their escape room adventure.
The founders of Michiana Escapes have a lot of experience in entertainment–they also help bring the Niles Scream Park to life each Fall. Although the escape room does not have the same scare factor as the Scream Park, both experiences are fully immersive interactive entertainment.
Michiana Escapes will open on Friday, July 15 and be open on Friday and Saturday evenings. Reservations can be made at their website, www.michianaescapes.com. Tippecanoe Place Restaurant is located at 620 West Washington Street in South Bend.
