County News_logoDeputies that retire from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department and have at least 20 years of service on the force will be able to take their service revolvers when they leave.

On Monday the Marshall County Commissioners passed on all three readings the first ordinance of the year that permits the sheriff to offer retiring law enforcement officers a special badge, ID card and the opportunity to retain and carry their service weapons.

Although this was the first ordinance presented and passed in 2016 there was some confusion on the numbering and the Auditor suggested it be listed at 2016-04.

The City of Plymouth passed a similar ordinance in 2015.
