StarkeCountyMug_Cody CooleyOn Wednesday, August 5th, Starke County Police Officers responded to the 7700 block of Tippecanoe Drive in Koontz Lake to apprehend a subject on a robbery warrant from another county.

Officers observed the suspect, 30 year old Cody Cooley in the upstairs attempting to hide in a closet.  A search of the home with K9 Terror  located the Cooley hiding in a closet in an upstairs bedroom.

After numerous commands from Officers to comply and come out of the closet K9 Terror was deployed and apprehended Cooley.

Once outside the residence, while waiting for medical attention Cooley resisted officers and took off running.  He was apprehended less than 100 yards away behind a residence on Kickapoo.

Cody Cooley was transported by ambulance to IU Starke Hospital where he was treated and released .
Cooley is charged with resisting law enforcement and will be transported to Dearborn County for the robbery warrant.

Starke County Sheriff’s Office were assisted by the Knox Police Department, Hamlet Police Department and Walkerton Police Department.
