Pack-A-Backpack2011With almost every school in the Marshall County Area going to a balanced calendar schedule this year, Plymouth F.O.P. Lodge 195 is gearing up for this year’s annual Pack-A-Backpack campaign.
The F.O.P. has begun collecting school supplies and back-packs for children in the Argos, Bourbon, Bremen, Culver, LaVille and Plymouth Schools. School supplies and backpacks will be distributed to the various school counselors and you should be able to request assistance when registering for school.
Items being collected this year include: pencil bags and bags, erasers for pencils, pencils and glue sticks, colored pencils and 24 packs of crayons, rulers, pocket folders and ear buds along with dry erase markers. The biggest need is, of course, backpacks.
Last year Plymouth F.O.P. 195 was able to distribute more than 700 backpacks to area schools for families needing assistance.
Getting kids ready for school is not a cheap venture. Besides paying for books, new clothes and shoes kids still need school supplies. Plymouth F.O.P. Lodge 195 wants all students to go back to school with a new backpack so donations of backpacks are a primary concern. May local businesses have some fantastic sales on the everyday supplies needed but backpacks are in high demand and costly.
If you want to help Plymouth F.O.P. 195 you can drop off your donations at the WTCA Studios, 112 West Washington Street in downtown Plymouth.
F.O.P. members and volunteers will be out front of Wal-Mart on Saturday, July 25th from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. to collect additional school supplies and donations.
