Members of the Plymouth Common Council unanimously approved on second reading of the 2022 Salary ordinance during their meeting Monday evening.

The ordinance calls for a raise next year for city employees and department heads of up to three percent.  There are two appointed positions that are proposed to receive a raise of up to five percent.  Those two positions are the Airport Manager and the Human Resources Manager.  Mayor Mark Senter said about the two positions, “We are trying to get their salaries closer to the other department head colleagues.”  He continued, “It’s about time they earn what the others are making.”

During the meeting City Attorney Sean Surrisi commented, “We are still having some discussions about some potential amendments to this ordinance, so we’ll have that back for third reading at your next meeting.”

The next meeting date is August 9th.
