Monday evening the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety awarded the 2021 Street and Sidewalk Projects to low-bidder E & B Paving from Rochester.

Plymouth Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt and City Engineer Rick Gaul reviewed the bids received two weeks ago from the four companies providing bids.  E & B Paving’s bid was $446,816.

Marquart said the city’s portion or streets is $364,289 while the Cemetery will pay $40,922 and the Park Department will pay $41,604 to pave the parking lot at Packard Woods.

2021 Street and Sidewalk Projects include 5th Street from Lake Avenue to the railroad crossing, Westgate Avenue from Hillcrest Avenue to State Road 17, Dickman Street from Webster Avenue to the dead-end and LaPorte Street from East Street to Kingston Road.  Also included in the list of projects is Seventh Street between Harrison Street and Beerenbrook.

When asked when work would begin, Marquardt said they will have a preconstruction meeting in the next week or so and will learn the scheduling at that time.

Marquardt said along with this money the city will be spending another $100,000 later in the season for crack sealing and rejuvenation.
