Over the 4th of July holiday weekend, Marshall County Commissioner Kevin Overmyer was contacted by a concerned citizen about a combine with steel-wheels driving on Ironwood Road north of 19 Road in the area south of Argos.

Overmyer drove down that day and inspected the roadways for damage.

During last week’s commissioners meeting Overmyer asked the County Attorney Jim Clevenger to look for state code that would allow the county to send a bill to the combine owner for the damages.

In October of 2020 the issue first surfaced and the commissioners discussed the problem but never took any official action.

Due to the recent appearance of the steel wheel combine again Overmyer wants some legal action to keep steel wheeled motorized equipment off the county roadways and if they are seen on the roads that any damages could be the responsibility of the combine owner.
