GOSHEN — Plymouth’s girls track team picked up a big NLC double win on the road at Goshen beating Wawasee 83-44 and knocking off the host Goshen 72-60.
The team traveled to Goshen to take on the host team and Wawasee in a double dual meet.
Trailing Goshen 48-43 they rallied with another strong finish starting with the 4x100m relay team (Sara Calix Moreno, Amber Schrameyer, Summer South, Jadyn Beran) taking a huge win, Aumrie Weiss winning the 300m hurdles, Audrey Yadon and Addie Kingston ran an amazing race in the 800m, Schrameyer won the 200m, Sophie Wray and Fatima Ramirez had a 1-2 finish in the 3200m.
The officials made a varsity only 4x400m race because it was close. Summer South ran a leadoff leg at 63 seconds as Weiss, Amaya Ameling and Schrameyer maintained a nice lead as they brought a win in the final event.
Leading the way with event wins were: Schrameyer (100m, 200m, 4x100m and 4x400m), Wray (1600m, 3200m), Weiss (300m hurdles, 4x400m), Sydney Rice (Discus, Shot Put).
Plymouth got key runner-up finishes scoring huge points and season bests from Sara Hunter improving 4 inches in the high jump, Ramirez (3200m, 4x800m), Yadon (800m, 4x800m), Kingston (4x800m), Weiss (100m hurdles) and Ameling (400m).
Plymouth is now 3-1 in the strong NLC conference.
