Tuesday afternoon Sheriff Matthew Hassel gave an update on the Covid-19 outbreak at the Marshall County Jail. In the press release it stated since the strike team tests on December 30th, 2020 there have been eight (8) additional inmates test positive for Covid-19 bring the total count of positive tests to 130 inmates.
The last time an inmate had tested positive was on January 5th. During vital checks by the nurse Monday only two (2) inmate’s reported minor symptoms.
Since the first positive Covid-19 test to date the Marshall County Jail has had no inmate with severe symptoms or needing to be treated at the hospital.
Wednesday, January 13th will be their 14th day since the Strike Team did the initial tests.
