Lady Rockies get NLC shut out

PLYMOUTH — Coming off a tough tie with Concord, Plymouth’s Lady Rockies came out with a shut out win over Wawasee by a final of 5-0.

Plymouth had a slow start but Aubrey Vervynckt had a goal in the first half and half time ended with Plymouth in the lead. 

The Lady Rockies came out stronger in half number two putting four goals in quickly. 

Lauren Manges finished a cross from Lindsay Janus. Janus then scored off an assist from Aubrey Vervynckt. 

Julia Kinney took a corner kick that deflected off of Wawasee’s defender for an own goal and Emma Cook headed in a corner kick from Julia Kinney for the final goal of the night. 

Plymouth’s JV team also grabbed a shut out by a 3-0 score. 

Elizabeth Sutterby, Mia Treber fand Kyleigh Kara-Weiler had the last goal of the night.

Plymouth is now 9-3-1 overall; 4-1-1 conference 

The Lady Rockies are in action again Saturday at home with Valparaiso. JV start is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
