Mishawaka kicks Lady Lancers
LAKEVILLE – The Lady Lancers fought hard but came up short against the Lady Cavemen of Mishawaka at Newton Park 3-1.
Mishawaka scored early in the game and continued their offensive pressure picking up another goal with only five minutes left in the first half.
The Lancers came out strong in the second half pressuring Mishawaka’s defense. The trio of Ellie Snyder, Kassi Watts, and Kylie Gorka battled it out on the offensive end but fell short finding the back of the net.
Finally, at the 69th minute of play Ellie Snyder found Kylie Gorka who was able to slip one past Mishawaka’s keeper. Lauren Tompkins, Lauren Dove, and Anna Medina were dominant in the midfield. The backline of Rylie Aschenbrenner, Abby Leonhard, and MaKenna Tribbey played well against Mishawaka’s quick offensive attacks.
Heaylyn Kwiatkowski held her own in the goal grabbing 25 saves on the night.
The Lady Lancers are now 2-2 in regular-season play. The girls will be traveling to Plymouth this Thursday night for a 5 PM game.
