pilgrims logoThe Plymouth girls golf team suffered their first defeat of the season Wednesday evening as the Michigan City Wolves posted two exceptional scores cruising to victory at Pretty Lake Wednesday evening.

Michigan City 201
Plymouth 213
The Wolves were paced by 2019 State qualifiers Lia Thomas 36 and Taylor Skibinski 40.  The duo’s 1-2 punch proved too much advantage over the best four Plymouth scores.  Four of the Pilgrim scores were better than all three remaining Michigan City totals.
The Pilgrims were led by Senior Olivia Horvath’s 49.  Olivia competed well tonight alongside Thomas’s even-par effort.  Her putting was improved from Saturday and her overall ball striking continues to improve.  Junior Annastasia Hutchings 54 had a great night on the greens, leading the team with 16 putts and zero three-putts.  Sophomore Elaina McDonald 54, Freshmen Hanna LaFree 56, and Sophomore Claire McDonald 57 rounded out the Varsity scoring.
Our younger players are gaining experience and learning what it takes to compete and be consistent.  Our work around the greens continues to be a focus and aspect we need to improve upon to be competitive.
Due to restrictions, Michigan City didn’t travel their JV players.  Sophomore Emma Rozycki 55 lead our JV.
The ladies are next in action Thursday evening back at Pretty Lake when the LaPorte Slicers come to town, tee time 5pm.
