The Indiana State Police are currently investigating a two vehicle accident on State Road 4, also known as Pierce Road involving a Union North United School bus and an SUV.
The incident occurred at 7:58 this morning when the SUV rear-ended the bus. The bus had approximately 20 students who ranged in age from kindergarten through high school. 4 students were transported to the hospital with injuries that appeared to be not very serious. The male driver of the SUV was also transported to the hospital.
The preliminary investigation shows that the bus had just pickup up at a bus stop and was driving away from the stop when it was rear-ended by the SUV.
The SUV sustained major front end damage.
ISP will release additional information as the investigation continues.
