theftPlymouth Police were called to Walmart Thursday evening at 5 in reference to a theft in progress.

The suspects attempted to push a cart full of items out the front doors and ran on foot to a getaway vehicle when Walmart employees attempted to stop them.

The getaway vehicle struck a vehicle as they attempted to pull out of the parking space.   The vehicle then struck a pedestrian attempting to stop them.

Officers with the Plymouth Police Department located the suspect vehicle at Western Avenue and Skylane Drive.

The driver, 29 year old Brandon Borem of Plymouth was taken into custody and booked into the Marshall County Jail for Failure to Stop after Accident resulting in Injury and Aggravated Battery with a vehicle.  He was held on a $1,500 cash bond.

30 year old Judith Nevil also of Plymouth and 25 year old Austin Woodham of LaPorte were taken into custody for theft and held in the County Jail on $1,500 cash bonds.

 

Listeners and readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
