County News # 1Last April, the Marshall County Commissioners agreed to sponsor the 4-H Fair Board for a grant for the construction of a multi-purpose building on the fairgrounds.

During the Commissioner’s meeting on Monday, County Attorney Jim Clevenger presented a sub-recipient agreement between OCAR, the 4H Fair Board and Marshall County for the new community building.

The funds from the OCRA grant will be funneled through the county and on to the fair board for construction of the building that will begin in the spring.

Once completed the building will be jointly titled between Marshall County and the 4H Fair Board for the first five years. The county will also insure the building for those five years.

Rob Hurford, president of the Fair Board told the commissioners they opened bids for the construction project on January 28th.   He said there were five bidders and one of them was close to the budgeted amount.  They hope to sign a contract in a week or so for the construction.
