The LaPaz Clerk-Treasurer, Susan Albert has submitted her letter of resignation to Marshall County Clerk Deb VanDeMark. Her resignation is effective April 30, 2019.
In last Thursday’s Pilot News there was a paid ad in the Help Wanted section that said Town of LaPaz Clerk-Treasurer Position. Must be a resident of LaPaz and the position consists of clerical and financial duties with a salary and retirement. The ad goes on to ask interested people to send a resume to the Town of LaPaz with a February 1st deadline.
The issue is that this is an elected position.
Marshall County Clerk Deb VanDeMark confirmed that the vacancy will need to be filled by a caucus conducted by the democrats since Albert is a democrat.
There has been no word yet from Marshall County Democratic Chairman Shiloh Milner on a date for the caucus.
