Centennial Park_front gatePlymouth Park Department Superintendent Mike Hite gave members of the park board an update on several projects currently under way during their meeting Monday evening.

Work is continuing on retro fitting of lighting fixtures to LED is moving forward.  The street lighting project in Centennial Park is complete and the lights in the lower level of the Conversation Club House are complete along with the fixtures in the Webster Center.

Superintendent Hite said most of the work has been done in-house by park employees and he is anticipating a major savings on electric costs.

The Nixon Field project has several aspects.  The painting has been mostly completed by Schoberg and Schoberg.  The fence, dugouts, bathrooms and trim work is being painted.  Hite said there are a few little items left to be attended to hopefully yet this month.

The block work at Nixon Field is mainly finished.  Hite said there is some additional block work to do on top of the bleacher spans.  He said the top two levels of the block have been deteriorating and are not salvageable.  The top two levels are going to be removed and new cop blocks will be put on top.

D. Mark Fencing hasn’t started the replacement project yet but it was noted that he can work through December to get the project completed.
