Marshall County Building Inspector Chuck DeWitt will assist the Town of Argos with building and planning after the County Commissioners approved an intergovernmental agreement during their meeting on Tuesday.
Lisa Mulaney, Argos Town Clerk Treasurer told the commissioners they were seeking approval of the intergovernmental agreement to allow Mr. Dewitt to assist the town with planning and BZA issues. Mulaney said, “Most of our planning and BZA members are volunteers. They do this out of the goodness of their hearts and a lot of times they’re not qualified professionals and I not real up on building codes, but I am learning as I go along. It would be nice to have this professional back us up.”
The agreement has the Town of Argos paying $3,000 for the services they will be receiving.
The commissioners unanimously approved the annual agreement.
