The Marshall County Police Department is investigating a single vehicle accident on Fire Road north of US 30.
About 2:45 Tuesday morning Officer Prater was dispatched to the crash and found a 2014 silver Mazda sedan driver by Shawn D. Geraghty of South Bend was traveling south on Fir Road when he lost control of the vehicle due to icy roadway conditions. As a result the vehicle traveled off the east side of Fir Road striking a Marshall County REMC pole before coming to rest.
Geraghty had facial lacerations and complained of pain.
