Lady Lancers win opener
LAKEVILLE – LaVille placed three players in double figures and opened a big first-half lead en route to a 52-24 season-opening victory against Jimtown Thursday.
Lindsey Aschenbrenner led the Lancer offense with 13 points, Aryn Eash 12, and Shelfie Zeiger added 10. Zeiger helped the Lancers get off to a nice start, scoring all 10 of her points in the first half. Eash, meanwhile, scored all 12 of her points in the second half.
The Lancers held the Jimmies to three first-half points, including a stingy defense that allowed zero points in the second quarter.
Zeiger and Kelsey Aschenbrenner collected three steals each, while Eash dished out three assists. Julia Hall cleaned the glass with four rebounds, while Haylie Cox blocked a pair of shots.
LaVille (1-0) will play host to Class 1A, No.24-ranked South Central Saturday Nov. 4. The JV game begins at 6 pm.
Jimtown (0-1) will host Fairfield Saturday Nov. 4.
