Just before 3 Thursday afternoon a line of thunder storm crossed Marshall County dropping large amounts of rain with strong winds.
On Plymouth’s east side a portion of a dead tree at 1144 Lincolnway East fell out into the street bringing down power lines. The incident also caused power lines between 1060 and 1068 LWE to drop into the trees which started smoking.
While the Plymouth Fire Department was on scene, they were only their as a precaution. Emergency responders had to wait until NIPSCO arrived to handle the charged down lines.
At the same time a large tree at 219 Kingston Road was blown down across Kingston causing the street to be blocked until clean up.
A lightening strike south of Plymouth caused a homeowner damage to a basketball backboard when a portion of the tree fell on the driveway.
